Soon after the Covid-19 pandemic started spreading globally we’ve started to witness a lot of changes, especially in digital scenario as businesses required to adjust quickly.
A few of our clients reach out to us complaining that their Google reviews have stopped showing up on Google [specifically new ones]. After a bit research we found that Google My Business have already announced some critical updates to their review and support policies.
Why reviews are not showing up?
The team of Google My Business has already suspended review posting in times of COVID-19 pandemic. But you can still reply on the reviews left before the changes announced.
When they will start showing?
Google recently issued a statement that in upcoming weeks; functionality of adding new user reviews, user photos, name sorting, and Q&A will be available again. Moreover their availability will be found by gradually expanding country and business category.
What can be done to build online reputation?
The option to write new review is still available; but new review is not getting published. Users can submit a Google review sometimes where a pop-up appears saying that “Your contribution may get delayed this time”.
However, it is not clear that reviews submitted now will ever be published or not and keeping this in mind, we recommend the following:

All the previously published reviews will continue to appear just like before.
